Tasting notes

This dry vermouth offers notes of stone fruit, citrus, saltiness, and herbaceousness. The vermouth features McLaren Vale Chenin Blanc as its base, contributing ripe fruit flavours. Aged in old oak and stainless steel for a lighter woodiness, it incorporates native ingredients like karkalla, native thyme, and roasted wattleseed.

Why we love it

Torino vermouth refers to a traditional style of vermouth that originated in the city of Turin, Italy. This one from 78 Degrees has become our go-to choice for dry vermouth, especially when crafting martinis. The addition of karkalla imparts a delightful touch of salinity, adding a savoury dimension that elevates the martini experience to new heights.

About 78 Degrees

Founder Sacha La Forgia, has quite literally lived up to his name, hand forging 78 Degrees’ copper still back in 2015. Named for the temperature that they extract all their botanicals (which is lower than most other distilleries), 78 Degrees has grown equally well-known for their whiskey as they are for their gin.
