It seems like a cop out to say the flavour is quintessentially Italian, but there’s almost no other way to describe it. Coffee, dark chocolate and candied orange will hit you from your first sip to your last.
While the French know their dry vermouth the Italians are masters of sweet vermouth. And we reckon Carpano Antica is the best international sweet vermouth on the market. Back in 1786 Turin, Antonio Benedetto Carpano, a herbalist student, crafted the first Vermouth by mixing herbs, spices, and muscatel. Located across from the Royal Palace, he boldly sent his creation to King Vittorio Amedeo III, who became a fan, making it a royal favourite.
