Aged for one to three years, Añejo tequilas like Fortaleza's offer a smoother taste, perfect for sipping. It's got a lot going on with flavours of pineapple, peach, orange blossom, nutmeg, raisin and hints of toffee and citrus. These rich flavours are held together but a beautiful thick, oily texture.
Why we love it
Sometimes, a sip of a spirit can take us back to a beautiful memory, and the incredible Fortaleza Añejo does just that for us at Measured. We once had the privilege of sitting next to its founder many moons ago at a stunning dinner at the Athens Bar Festival. He shared stories about his journey and brand, and generously let the tequila flow. We will forever cherish that epic night.
About Tequila Fortaleza
Tequila Fortaleza, born in 2005, boasts a legacy dating back 150 years. While the distillery boasts extensive renovations its methods are centuries-old, including a small brick oven for agave cooking, a tahona for juice extraction, wooden tanks for fermentation, and the original copper pots for distillation.
